About Kota

Dakota Wilson, known as Kota, brings over 5 years of dedicated expertise in creative training initiatives across diverse settings. As a Certified Domestic and Sexual Violence Professional, an advanced advocacy certification accredited by the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, Kota is equipped with a wealth of practical knowledge. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Services Counseling, augmenting her practical experience.

 

Her focus lies in fostering collaborative efforts to combat Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking, particularly within rural and tribal communities. Kota's work as a former Special Services Social Worker for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma’s Family Violence Prevention Program underscores her commitment to proactive intervention. She has also worked as a Prevention Coordinator for the Texas Council on Family Violence.

 

Kota is an integral member of various Coordinated Community Response Teams (CCRTs) and statewide committees, lending her insights and expertise to enhance community-based strategies and to inform best practice. Her dedication extends to serving as a Board Member for Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and volunteering her time advocating for survivors.

 

Driven by personal experience as a survivor of violence, Kota is deeply committed to pioneering innovative training methodologies aimed at tackling the pervasive issues affecting our communities.
